Boots

Text

Boots and Terrence Higgins Trust are working together to make HIV information easier to access, more accurate, and non-stigmatising. This will help more people get the right support, access to HIV testing, and help us move closer to ending new HIV cases by 2030.

Why this partnership matters

Boots reaches millions of people looking for health information. Terrence Higgins Trust’s role in this partnership is to help ensure Boots’ HIV information is: accurate, clear, current, and stigma-free.

We are supporting Boots to review and improve HIV content across Boots’ Health Hub and Online Doctor pages. We’re also delivering bespoke HIV training for Boots pharmacists to build confidence.

The Pride Alliance Business Resource Group first connected with Terrence Higgins Trust when they were looking for impactful World AIDS Day events for their members, and their passion for creating a more inclusive Boots has continued to drive our work together. The insight that THT were able to share was so impactful, and with their support, we’ve introduced more inclusive language across our websites and developed short HIV‑focused training modules for our pharmacists. This is work we’re incredibly proud of because the trusted expertise reflects our commitment to doing what matters for everyone, keeping Boots at the heart of community healthcare.

MAC VIVA GLAM

Text

Since 1997, MAC’s VIVA GLAM programme has supported Terrence Higgins Trust’s work to help end new HIV cases and tackle HIV stigma. Together, we’re backing the progress needed to reach the 2030 goal and making sure people living with HIV are supported to live well.

Impact

  • 26+ years of partnership (since 1997).
  • Over £1m donated through Viva Glam support.

Why MAC chose to partner with Terrence Higgins Trust

Quote text

Partnering with Terrence Higgins Trust has felt like a natural extension of MAC’s decades‑long commitment to supporting people affected by HIV and advancing education, prevention, and care.

Since the launch of Viva Glam in 1994, MAC has donated more than $500 million USD to charities across sectors globally, but the mission to support and bring awareness to people living with HIV and AIDS was Viva Glam's founding principle, on the simple belief that one lipstick can change lives. We are very glad to have proved that to be true time and again.
