When you’re living with an illness you could die from and you have HIV, you may have questions, concerns or wishes about the end of life.

You may be thinking about specific things about end of life because of your HIV status. It can help to have conversations and make plans early, so you can get the care and support you want and need.

Resources

In partnership with Marie Curie, the UK’s leading end of life charity, we have developed a series of resources to answer questions about the end of life for people living with HIV and explain where to get support.

Click through on the pages below or watch the videos for more information on topics such as planning for end of life and HIV medication at the end of life.

You can read our online leaflet on end of life care for people living with HIV, or order a physical copy from the Marie Curie website.

As part of our work with Marie Curie, we have also co-produced a report exploring the challenges and desires of people living with HIV towards the end of their lives. You can read the report on the research project here.

If you are a social care professional or work with people growing older with HIV, you can complete our Can’t Pass It On training. The self-directed learning course aims to increase awareness and understanding of HIV, how it is passed on and the Can’t Pass It On message in order to help you provide excellent care to people living with HIV.
