Begum studied at Slade School of Fine Art, and Chelsea College of Art and Design. Begum’s research on colour spans the disciplines of painting, sculpture, and architecture, working across mediums to give colour a physical presence and tangible interaction. She has exhibited in solo and group shows globally.
Print 98 is part of an ongoing series of paintings that use sharp-edged geometry to explore colour transitions and the process of layering. When layered or brought into contrast with each other, the colours can either heighten to create a sense of drama, or soften to offer a moment of tranquillity. Throughout the series, the rhythm of the geometry creates a dynamic interplay between light and dark.
