aidsmap provides independent, accurate and accessible information about HIV, from the latest scientific research to trusted resources for people living with HIV.
aidsmap began in 1987 as a UK manual of HIV information for professionals to share with people living with HIV. Today, we are a comprehensive global website with five million page views a year.
In 2025, aidsmap became part of Terrence Higgins Trust. Under this stewardship, aidsmap continues to build on nearly four decades of trusted HIV information. We are committed to bringing clear and accurate information on HIV and AIDS to all those who need it, including health professionals.
Our resources are used by health professionals across the globe:
- On aidsmap’s news pages, we publish the latest research on HIV treatment, prevention and cure from around the world. We also publish a selection of editors’ picks, so you can keep up to date with HIV news from other sources.
- Our editors attend the world’s leading HIV conferences each year to report on the latest scientific research.
- We send out monthly bulletins sharing the latest news, as well an in-depth conference bulletins.
- Our About HIV pages present clear and reliable information on all aspects of HIV, including testing and treatment, transmission and prevention, health problems and ageing, and healthy living. These plain-language pages can be recommended by clinicians to their patients as a source of reliable information to help them understand diagnoses, medications and how they can manage their health.
aidsmap is committed to ensuring the information we produce is evidence-based, relevant, and rooted in the experiences of those most affected by HIV. We work with medical review panels, who ensure our standards are being met, and peer review panels.
